HEALTH BELIEF MODEL (HBM) DAN KETERLAMBATAN RUJUKAN KASUS GINEKOLOGI

Abstract

Research on the factors behind the delay in gynecological referral cases is still rare. Patients with gynecological diseases generally came in severe conditions that can no longer be given conservative therapy, so that operative treatment must be done. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between Health Belief Model (HBM) with delayed referral of gynecological cases in the Gynecology Ward, dr. Soepraoen Hospital Malang. Research designed as analytic correlation and samples taken by random sampling technique. It was concluded that there was a correlation between HBM with delay in gynecology cases referral. It was found that the most powerful element associated with delayed referrals is the 3rd HBM element that is perceived benefits of the importance of treatment. So the public especially women needs to be given health education about the advantages of regular clinical examination of reproductive organs.
