Abstract

There are differences in the quality of infant sleep before and after the baby spa in infants aged 3 to 12 months at Cetta Mom and Baby Spa Pontianak. This study aims to analyze differences in infant sleep patterns ages 3 to 12 months before and after baby spa at Cetta Mom and Baby Spa Pontianak. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental, and the design of this study was pre and post test without control. With a sample of 30 people taken by consecutive sampling method. Sleep quality was used by using questionnaires and implementing baby spa using the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Baby spa's physical activities and actions as independent variables and baby sleep patterns or quality of baby sleep as independent variables. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical test.For the quality of the baby's sleep there was an increase before and after the baby spa in Pontianak Cetta Mom and Baby Spa obtained the value of Z of -4.832a. With a significance value (p = value) of 0.000 where the probability value of 0.000 is less than the value of α <0.05. Sleep plays an important role in infants inside in utero brain maturation and extra uterine. Sleep quality is a certain quality or physiology during a baby's sleep, which restores body processes that occur when the baby wakes up with the right amount of sleep. In Indonesia, many babies experience sleep problems, which is around 44.2%. A useful baby bath can provide a sense of calm, comfort and freshness. The impact of water from turbulent water can give sensations and massages that eliminate fatigue, promote blood circulation and create relaxation. Thus the baby's sleep will be more so that it can increase the number of hours of naps and nights. Where in the baby's sleep there is an increase in growth hormone expenditure. It is recommended for further researchers that there are factors that influence a baby's sleep patterns, namely the environment, physical activity, nutrition, and disease that can affect the baby's sleep patterns so it needs to be studied and developed more deeply related to research on baby spas on baby sleep patterns.
